Are Public-private Partnerships beneficial in a world as corrupt as now?

PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS [PPA]

PPA means a co-ordination between public sector and private sector for a project for mutual benefit.

It was a very good iniative as it provided employement at that time particularly 1980s.

Also the Government was benefitted as they were getting the deal done as with best price as every private tycoon want advertisement from government itself. Hence they used to get best work done and that too at a cheaper amount.

But now, the world has changed and has become corrupted even more than before.

 Now, even a signature from the government is not free.

Private Sector is bribing the government officials to have their tender amount to be approved.

And after getting the tender, they use cheap quality material in order to recover their bribed money, which can lead to a Disastorous accident .

For Exmple: If a bridge is to be made up by a private sector company and that sector had give bribe to get that project. that they will try to decrease the amount to be spent on raw materials to maintain their profit margin. And in future, when the bridge won't be able to take up the maximum load, it would lead to a disaster.

But, as a coin has both the sides, every thought has some good and some negative side.

1. The Benefit of PPPs is that, both the sectors will contribute what they have to offer.

2.Also it increases chances of employment

In private firms.

Public Section is best at providing the basic needs of Public by keeping in mind about them and their other necessities, i.e large Scale infrastructure and Drainage system availability.

While Private Sector best at providing labour and managing things with great efficiency. -meaning that the resources will be used at their best.

Also due to competitive pressure, private Sectors are said to be using new technology. And being innovative.

Now if we look st the other side ,PPPs can cause damage to many samle scale industries.

For Example: Nowadays,at many railway stations, tea stalls are privatised.

But because of that, the daily vendors, who used to sell tea and their pther commodities, at the banned to do so. Hence their deeply affected.

Also, because of PPPs involved in corruption, the one with the money will become rich while the poor will get more below the line.

Also at sometimes, the ones [with money] they alter the quality of goods or service provided.

Also we connot deny the fact that India today because of the policy of privatization.

According to me, the concept of PPPs works in a Communist country a it involves removal of cutting state. Also we cannot deny the fact. today because that India of policy of Privatisaton since 1992,when the county was suffering from financial crises.

But if the Private firms are given more Control,they can adjust the service price according to their wish for more profit, which the Common man might not be able to afford., which leads to decreased standard of living.
